Coastal DIY Art

Yes, I live in the country but the older I get the more I like the coast.  Keeping that in mind, I decided to do a mini makeover of my downstairs bath.  After completing the Civil War artwork I did, I decided to do another one.  I already had this wide frame that my husband had made from Spanish cedar molding.  The wood had a white primer on it and I loved the look of it!  It has a coastal feel to me.

I decided to use the same technique as before but instead of using linen fabric, I used burlap.  The finishing touch was hot gluing the starfish!

I love it!  more so than the utensil artwork.  It looks really good hanging on  the beachy blue wall!

You just can't get any easier than this!

  9. Very nice :-) And love the blue on your wall! It's fun to create your own artwork - it's so much more unique and meaningful than buying mass-made art. I created similar artwork with some shells & sand dollars that I found. I used large paint chip samples for the backing, and hung them on my coastal-inspired gallery wall.

    Enjoy your starfish!
