Happy Fourth of July!

SAM_4536
I wasn’t planning on doing another patriotic tablescape but while rearranging some of my glassware, I came across these.

They have a thin white stripe running vertically down the glass with a milk glass base.

I purchased this vintage tablecloth a couple of weeks ago at a local moving sale.  It has a very small blue stripe running though it.

I used my mason jars as my centerpiece and in order to lift them up a little, I used a galvanized pan turned upside down. I’m trying to collect three of these in different sizes to make one a 3 tiered server.  Unfortunately, I’m can’t find a small size.

I kept with the red, white, and blue theme as you can see!  The navy blue placemats are from the Dollar Tree.  I used red square plates, white dinner plate and navy blue salad plates.  I mismatched my flatware using the red, white and blue!

I love the rope detail on the plates.  They were originally from Pier One but I got a whole set at Goodwill for $6!

Now for my tip of the day!  Someone who grows their own blueberries told me that when dealing with fresh blueberries, you shouldn't wash them until you are ready to eat them.  Also, if you want to freeze them, spread the blueberries out on paper and allow to sit overnight.  Then freeze the blueberries loose on a tray.  Once frozen, put in zip loc bags.  Easy Peasy!

I hope everyone has a fabulous 4th!

  3. This looks great, and I like what you did with your flatware. Now I have to go get a set of white somewhere.

I will be interested to see how you put together that three-tier thing.

  14. I love your tip, Tammy. Just yesterday I had to throw away a bunch of bags of blueberries that I had frozen because they were all weird. Money down the drain. Problem is that I don't ever have room in either of my freezers to put a tray in. Hmmmm....will have to figure that out. Times like this I wish we had a deep freeze. I like the way you elevated the centerpiece! Very cool! Hope you're able to find that 3rd pan so you can make your tiered server. It'll turn up when you least expect it! Have a great weekend!!!

A great patriotic table. Loved it, just love the look of red white and blue cause it means America to me! Land that I love!

Great tip on blueberries and just about anything you freeze, I do that with waffles and pancakes and some other things but can't remember right now. lol

Have a lovely 4th of July,
