Office and Crafting Space

This has been a busy week for me!  I haven’t had much time to work on anything for the blog.  I worked out of the home one day and HAD to clean my home another day.  I’m taking my mom to a doctor’s appointment one day and my daughter to the orthodontist another day!  So I thought I would share something I’m working on, well have been working on for about a month!  The office.  I loved the way it was set up before but it wasn’t very functional.  It seemed that every time I was crafting, everything ended up in the kitchen!  So I decided to redo the office area.

No, this isn’t my office!  I wish!  This is from Pottery Barn, which I cannot afford, but am going to try to copy, somewhat.

I do want to make a tiered tray like this one from BHG.

These are the colors I’m planning on using.  White and tan with accents of blue.

I love how The Velvet Door used baskets for storage.  Notice how she wrapped her books in brown paper for a cohesive look.  The blue frame on the chalkboard really adds a little color to the corner without being too bold.

I also have a dresser in the office that I use as a credenza.  All the larger drawers were removed for another project but I put baskets on the shelves for storage.  I love how Design Sponge used this one!

This is my before.  Well, the before AFTER I starting moving stuff in here and rearranging.  There’s A LOT of things here!  Crafting, magazines, genealogy notes, books…..and the list goes on!  Before I had the crafting supplies in a closet but it was such a hassle trying to pull everything out.

Here’s a little sneak peek!  The dark brown is gone!  I’ve painted the furniture and shelving white.  I even painted my baskets and magazine holders! It’s starting to look good in there!  Unfortunately, I have a whole lot more left to do in there!

Thanks for stopping by!
