Dessert Stations

dessert table inspiratoin

Yes, I know the 4th is next week.  Yes, I know we’re expecting between 35 to 40 people for our annual 4th of July BBQ.  Yes, I know I haven’t planned any!  For goodness sakes, I just mailed the invitations yesterday!  Yes, I am a procrastinator, but I’m trying to get on the ball!  I wanted to set up a separate little area for desserts and have browsed Pinterest for ideas so at least I have a plan, kind of!  I have to tell you, I found some great ones!

I love, love, love this first one!  Hunter has an old pie safe in the barn that I may get out and clean up to use.  I could use fabric or even scrapbook paper to line the back to give it a festive look.

Putting food on ice is a necessity here in south Louisiana!  We won’t start our little shindig until about 6pm but it will still be pretty hot!

I really like the idea of combining some nautical elements since we hold our party in the backyard around the pool.

Party City has went all out on this fabulous table!

I do love the vintage feel on this table!  I know the next one is going off theme here but I just had to share it with you!

Just a simple bookshelf would work here!  Once again, line the back with some themed paper or fabric and you’re set to go!

Do you have any ideas for a dessert station!  If so, I sure would like to hear about them!

  3. Great ideas. I ran across some wonderful, very easy ideas for July 4th desserts at Best Bites. http://www.ourbestbites.com/2013/06/mocktails-munchies-how-to-create-a-stunningly-simple-patriotic-party-theme/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+ourbestbites%2FdjLu+%28Our+Best+Bites%29
You'll have to copy & paste, but I think that it'll be worth your time. You're going to be very busy for the next week...I see lots of cutting and pasting cool patriotic papers. I'm excited to see the final results. Thanks for inviting us for a peak. Cherry Kay

    1. Thanks for the link, Cherry Kay! There were lots of simple festive desserts! Thankfully, my daughter is babysitting my 9 year old niece this summer so I'll have some extra hands to help!

  7. That Hunter...it's great that he keeps a good stash for you to pick from! I'm sure you'll be able to find something suitable and get it all hooked up for your party. I love ALL of these ideas!!! Very creative! That Party City one is the bomb!!!!!!! This makes me a little sad that I deep-sixed the piece of furniture we had that was similar to the one in the first photo. At the time, though, I just didn't have space for it, and it was a hideous yellow & green. I just couldn't envision myself scraping and painting that thing!

All great ideas, and I'm sure you'll be able to glean just enough from each to come up with your own unique and wonderful creation! Have fun with that! One idea I have to contribute: If you guys are going to be partying into the dark hours, consider putting some of those waterproof LED lights under the ice on your dessert station. It will make the desserts look extra special and help to light up the night with color! Have a good time!!!

Thank you for your sweet comment and I'm sorry I took a while coming by, but I just got back from a 3 hour drive as I went to my aunt's funeral. Enjoy your weekend and happy 4th.!

  9. Hello Tammy!! I set a dessert station for my grandson's 1st birthday which was such a hit. I had planned to use it at Christmas but as usual I had too many things organised for too few days so we gave it a miss. As my grandson's birthday is the 4th January (in the middle of our summer here in Australia) it was perfect and a great hit with everyone. We have since used it again for last Christmas on Boxing Day which are traditional a day of hanging around the pool it was perfect for that. You might find a few useful ideas from my post http://atthefarmhouse-suzyq.blogspot.com.au/2012/01/ice-cream-bar.html
