Happy Monday, everyone! It’s been one month since Hunter and I opened up our very own little booth at the local antique store! You wouldn’t believe how nervous I was! We went back and forth trying to decide if we wanted to do it probably for about 2 months!
So many questions and fears were racing through my mind! Would we sell anything? Would others like what we had?
If we did sell anything, could we keep it full? I finally realized that I was overthinking it….as usual!
So, we took the plunge and have been pretty successful our first month out! At least, I think we have!
We are still in those first baby steps! We have changed some things and still plan to do more as time permits. This past week we added another shelf for display and need to bring it some smaller items.
Some of the furniture pieces are not what we expected to sell either but so far so good! We’ll just have to see how it evolves!
Do any of you have booths? If so, do you have any advice for this newbie?

Love your display Tammy, not too cluttered and artfully nice! I would love to shop there if I lived close to you! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I would definitely stop by!
ReplyDeleteTammy, everything looks so good I wish I could shop with you. Love that hutch.

I usually think of grouping similar colors or shapes for the smalls. Once a month I rotate everything around the sides of the booth a quarter turn - everything looks different. Last, have fun! Good luck.
ReplyDeleteHow much fun! I had a space at a local salon that I was totally in charge of, the secret is too keep changing it and moving things around and making it look different all the time with the same pieces {if they haven't sold} Keep it fresh, different, on season early and on trend and people will notice you first! Good luck!

Love it, looks like you have some really fun things. Thanks tons for joining Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteWishing you much success.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about running a booth, but selling on Etsy, I pretty much make more of what sells. So if you sell more of a particular style, size or color, then keep that in "stock". Good luck
ReplyDeleteSounds to me like you've got the basics on keeping your booth fresh, clean and with "new" antiques. I have 3 booths in a local antique mall. I keep mine full to the brim, as there isn't anymore room in the garage and I don't want it to take over the house. As I write, I have treasures in 3 rooms ready to be hauled down town. You need a good mixture of items. Each of my booths have a theme, shabby chic, old world, and cottage/americana, and I try to find items that fit into the mix. About once a year I have a riduculously low clearance table. Each month, I change out the tablescapes with a theme, that fits into that particular booth and the season.
ReplyDeleteFuniture makes you good money, but it is often slower moving. So be sure to keep items in the $5-10 range. Of course, you need to know your market and what they are willing to spend. It's fun, keeps you busy and great therapy and if you are luck you make a little money.:)
Congrats on the booth!Looks great!:)

Your booth looks lovely. I just plunked down the deposit of my first booth. I will be partnering with my junk buddy starting in September and I am so overthinking it! Best wishes it sounds like you are off to a good start!
