Lately, I seems that everywhere I turn, there’s a soup tureen. I wanted some to display on top of my kitchen cabinets but only had one! Within the last 3 weeks, I came across four and purchased three! One was just a little too expensive for me plus it was a little too off white.
They ranged in price from 3 to 10 dollars each. For this table, the place setting came first and while trying to think of a centerpiece, I decided to use the tureens!
White placemats ($ Tree), green wicker chargers (GW), white dinner plates (Pier One), green salad plates (JCP) were topped with a black floral salad plate (GW).
The black handled flatware was a Christmas gift from Savvy. I think she purchased it from Amazon.
Pink napkins bring out the flowers of the plates. The silver napkins were a Trash to Treasure find many years ago.
To add a little more silver to the table, I climbed up the ladder and dug these silver plated candlesticks that were in an upper cabinet. I purchased them years ago off eBay and have never used them. They were not quite what I expected when I ordered them. Yes, I did take a moment to clean them!
The glassware is made by Mikasa in The Ritz pattern.
Please overlook the fan on the floor in the background! I painted this room yesterday and used the fan to speed up the drying process in between coats!
Thanks for stopping by!

ReplyDeleteLooks so elegant!
ReplyDeleteYes, I love white soup tureens, too. Yours are beautiful - and your table. I've been looking for some chargers like yours, only a different color. I don't mean to be stupid, but I can't think of what this might be, so I'll ask - what is GW? Maybe it's a place I don't have here.

ReplyDeleteI started a collection a few years ago - hit 3 - and went on to something else lol
But I really do LOVE them - and I really do use them - in the fall and winter when I make soups!

Your tureens are gorgeous! I love the 3 of them lined up down the center of your table~I have one that was my mother's on top of my china cabinet and I got it down the other day thinking about a tablescape and then remembered why I keep it up there~it's cracked :( I will have to go hunting for one! You can't beat white either, stunning!

Yes, I am seeing soup tureens everywhere. Yours are just lovely...your table setting is great. You always do such wonderful things..Blessings!
ReplyDeleteThe soup tureens as centerpiece was a brilliant idea! They look fantastic. I like how the shape of the lid on the one in the center, seems to echo the pattern on the goblets! I am so impressed that you only just painted the room yesterday. You are Wonder Woman! Love the color on your walls. Nice job!
ReplyDeleteTammy, I love your tablesetting! The tureens are wonderful. I have my favorite white one on display in my kitchen. The rest are in the china cabinet. I hope to use them for my fall tablescapes. Love the paint color, too!
ReplyDeleteTammy, your table is lovely. I have a grouping of white tureens too. How nice that you have recently found several to bring home. My sister sent me home with one on my last visit. It had belonged to our mom, and she wanted me to have it. I gladly accepted. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe those great tureen bargains - wow! Your table is wonderful - love the colors that you chose and I always adore silver candle holders!
