Remember my china closet? Well, I knew after I completed my Civil War utensil art that the wall needed something else but I didn’t know what.
While rearranging some platters on the shelf, I thought why not hang some of the wicker pieces on the wall?
I use the platters quite a lot so to have them so handy was great!
They were all purchased at yard sales, ranging in price from 50 cents to twelve dollars. Yes, twelve dollars is a little high for me too but the round platter to the right is from Pampered Chef and is quite heavy and sturdy!
I love the texture it adds to the wall and the different shapes!
and since the platters are hanging and not on the shelf, I have more room for storage!

Love it. The trays look fabulous and such a varied collection. Perfect with the silverware art. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea! I'm off to take a look in my cabinets to see what platters I can hang on the wall, as I could definitely use some more space for storage.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Marty and Julie! I definitely freed up some more storage for me and it's so easy to grab and go when you need one!
ReplyDeleteI love the texture, too! And the fact that you can still use them! We took appetizers to a party on a little boat last night and I would have like to have had your round wicker one!
ReplyDeleteFollowing you...off to check out more of your lovely blog.
ReplyDeleteHi, Tammy!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! So practical, because big trays take so much space...
Mine are on top of the fridge gathering dust...
I love the round ones!!!
Cheers,
I love wicker trays. You have a nice variety.
ReplyDeleteYour project feels perfect for summer! Give yourself a huge pat on the back. Well done!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see it's ok to hang wicker trays again. For quite awhile I guess it was considered hokey?
ReplyDeleteI have a few and storage is a problem for me. Will get busy looking for all of them to see which I'll hang and where. Thanks for sharing. Love all yours that you hung.
we are so on the same page there! love this!
ReplyDeleteYour baskets look great on your kitchen wall. Move the textured look.
ReplyDeleteI used to have a whole wall in my kitchen decorated with LOTS of baskets. I still have alot of baskets but they are USED now:):) XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteThe trays looks really great, and I like the way they're hanging. What sort of hook have you used? Is it the same kind for each tray? Thank you for sharing.
