Howdy, Pilgrim!

 

No, this is not a John Wayne tablescape!!! LOL!  I used my ceramic Pilgrims that I purchased a few years ago from Hobby Lobby.  I wanted to pull some more blue to this Fall tablescape.

 

 

Before I purchased them, I was looking at the Fall décor in the house and I realized there was mostly pumpkins and nature inspired things.  It made me start thinking of that first Thanksgiving dinner.  With that in mind, I went to Hobby Lobby and found this set of Pilgrims.  I loved the colors!

 

 

I was moving some Spring/Summer dishes and bringing out the more Fall like colors when I realized that the Mikasa Daydreams has a Fall like quality to them.  Along with the green, there are touches of a rusty brown in the floral motif and along the trim. 

 

 

I layered the Mikasa salad plates with a slightly larger green plate (JCP).  The blue speckled dinner plate is Mikasa Ultrastone Blue and the larger white plate is by Homer Laughlin.  All these are sitting on rattan chargers that were purchased from Walmart.

 

 

The blue napkins bring a little more blue to the table.  The flatware is Reed & Barton Everyday Stainless.

 

 

Green wineglasses are from the Dollar Tree and the blue tea glasses are Noritake Sweet Swirl.

 

 

Some faux pears, leaves and votive lights add extra special touches to the table.

 

 

This table still has a lot of elements that were on last week’s Harvest table.  The tablecloths are the same and well as a few more touches like this set of salt and pepper shakers and the iron birds.

 

 

 

TIP OF THE WEEK:  I have white cabinets in my kitchen and I love them!  I have always loved white cabinets but they do get dirty quickly!  To speed up cleaning, I take a damp sponge and put it in the microwave for about 20 seconds.  I then spray the cabinets with an all purpose cleaner (409) and used the damp, warm sponge to wipe down the cabinets.  The warmth of the sponge helps to break down the dirt which makes for easier cleaning and I’m all for anything that helps do that!
