Vintage Wheelbarrow

SAM_5859
Look what I found just in time for Fall!!  A vintage wooden wheelbarrow!  Two weeks ago, Hunter and I went to a yard sale that was raising money for an animal shelter.  It was held at my hairdresser’s shop and I had always admired this wheelbarrow.  I saw that is was sitting in the yard with the other items for sale but I assumed it was being used to display item.  Before I finished shopping, I thought well I’ll just check and see.  And it was for sale!!  My hairdresser had donated it!  I immediately said I want it!!!

I’m not going to say how much I paid for it but I got a super great deal!  My hairdresser said she didn’t want to know how much they sold it for because she originally paid over $300 for it.  So, just in case she reads this post, I’ll leave out the exact price!

Some of the wood is getting brittle so I will be keeping it on the porch, out of the weather.  Once it does need some work, my husband is very good at restoring old items like this.  In the past, he has restored an old horse drawn wagon, a double swing glider, and entry gates to a plantation home.

I haven’t decorated outside for Fall yet since we’ve been so busy having a yard sale but I wanted to dress it up a little!  I used some faux flowers and fruit.

In the upper left hand corner of this picture you can see Hunter’s latest project, a 1967 Ford Mustang!  My Dad traded it for some mechanic work and he and Hunter are going to restore it!
