Dinner is Served!

SAM_5845

As I was cleaning out a closet, I found this flower arrangement.  I decided to use it in this week’s tablescape, mainly because of the little golden yellow flowers.  They reminded me a little of Fall.

I used a tablecloth that was included in a box deal that I bought at the auction awhile back.

Notice the detail….

Brass candle sticks, along with the gold trim on the red votive cups, bring out the gold of both the little flowers and table cloth.  Yes, I know my candle is crooked!  Overlook that part!! LOL!

I used rattan chargers (Wal Mart) for a little texture and layered a deep red plate, cream salad plate and green bowl.  The flatware is Reed & Barton Everyday Stainless.

What do you do if you need to set a table for six but only have four plates?  Just coordinate them with a different pattern!  I picked up the red set last week at a yard sale and picked up the two striped plates at the Dollar Tree.  These were part of their Fall line that they have out.  The napkins are a light taupe and are made by Ralph Lauren.  They have a leaf motif on it.

I call that picture on the wall, my Titanic picture!  It reminds of the dining room on the ship!

If you look close enough, you can see Dr. Phil sitting there!  Not really, but everybody says it looks like him!

Amber glasses are used alongside the green wine glasses from the Dollar Tree.

I’ve been slowly adding some Fall touches around the house and will share some pics soon.  I have thoroughly enjoyed the posts that others have put up already!  It was just a little hard to get going with it since the weather was still so hot.

TIP of the Week:  I really can’t say that I can up with this idea myself.  I saw it somewhere, maybe Pinterest, I’m not sure.  Anyway, I was putting away some wrapping paper and to keep it from unrolling, I used a toilet paper roll.  I cut it vertically down the side and slipped it over my roll of wrapping paper!  It worked, too!  It held the paper in place without having to tape, which, of course, tears the paper when you go to use it the next time!

Thanks for stopping by!

  7. Love the Laguiole knives!! Great tip on the wrapping paper. I usually tape it, but then it ruins a big chunk of it when I pull the tape off. I'm trying the toilet paper roll trick pronto!

  9. LOVE the tip re: the toilet paper roll!!!!!!!!! I am going to try that right away! SO FUNNY about "Dr. Phil"!!!!! It DOES look like him! Wonderful table, Tammy, and the idea about simply coordinating when you don't have enough of something is a great tip. I'm sure all of us have found ourselves at one time or another without the requisite number of plates or glasses or napkins. It's a fact of tablesetting life! :-)
