Well, we’re hitting the 90’s this week so I think Summer is here for us in South Louisiana! The painting that I got last year is out of storage and back over the mantel. It’s so much brighter in here since I repainted the walls in this grayish white color. I think the name of the paint is Mineral Spirit from Behr.
I used the mercury glass that I made awhile back. To see that post, click here. The glass cylinder is filled with sand, sea glass, rope and a starfish. The sea glass is from Pottery Barn, I purchased it last year but they have it for this year as well! The sand is from Home Depot.
I splurged this year and purchased the coral from Pottery Barn as well. Last year while at the beach, I priced it at several different places and they all seem to run about the same price.
The tall lantern is a recent purchased from Hobby Lobby. The driftwood filler is from Pottery Barn. My husband almost had a fit when he heard I bought a bag of “sticks!” I loved how they looked at the store but I’m still not satisfied with how I used mine so I know this lantern will be looking different soon!
Have you started your Summer decorating or still hanging on to Spring!

Luvly summer mantel. Nope.. summer all the way. Moved in the summer stuff a couple of weeks ago when the temps went in the low 80's .
ReplyDeleteLets face it, in Florida Spring is fleeting at best!
Unpacked the shells, and went all in.
Happy Monday, Gee
What a gorgeous mantel! I'm ready for the summer when I look at your mantel! Your shells are so pretty and I love the way you added driftwood to the lanterns! Great job!
ReplyDeleteI love your summer mantel!! So beachy and inviting. I can't wait to step onto the sandy beach. Soon....

This is just beautiful, Tammy! It really has a summer feel...I really love your lantern and all the the things from the sea. Funny, how we can buy them but it's wonderful if you don't live near the coast. Love your painting, too!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get a bit of cooler weather. We have been in the 80's here in the Midwest for a few days and it's humid which I don't care for too much.
XO,
Jane
Your mantel looks lovely! I love anything that has to do with the beach!!

Your mantel is amazing. Love the painting and the coral. I've been looking for a small seascape, but haven't found one I really like yet. Yours is beautiful and perfect for over the mantel.
ReplyDeleteLove your mantel. What a nice calm theme. I like the covered cylinder with the sea glass. It's nice to see some of these decorating items used that I see in the catalogs. It's not always easy to visualize how to use them. Great job!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful mantle, love the coastal elements, beautiful with the painting.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty coastal mantel! I love how you put the rope with the star fish in your apothecary jar. Very smart!

P.S. I love your blog. I'm your newest follower. :)
I love everything about the ocean! I love your beautiful painting..the wall color really does set it off. I need to get more creative with my shells, too! I love the seaglass and other things you put together in the jar! Very nice!
ReplyDeleteI hear the beach calling! Great inspirational mantel display.

Your lantern and apothecary jar are both wonderful on your mantel. So clever and creative to fill the jar with rope and shells. Love that idea. Thanks tons for joining the party. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteHow pretty! I love how you put the seaglass to add a touch of color. Looks very calming!

Ph, I love your mantle so much! Everything looks so pretty! the painting of the ocean is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteGreat summer mantel, love the look. We just got back from Florida and a trip to the beach. Sorry, but no I haven't gotten out my summer decor, guess I am still enjoying spring.
ReplyDeleteOh what a pretty mantel. Living on the coast, this is one of my favorite decorating styles! Thanks so much for sharing it at Project Inspire{d} :) Pinning!

Love, love your table. Pink tulips are some of my very favorite and they are beautiful in your centerpiece. Also great idea to spray paint the charger and the Johnson Brother plates are perfect. I have some very soft floral placemats that I am wanting to so a setting with but don't have it all planned out but spraying some chargers pink is a perfect idea. So glad I stopped in to see back by for a second look.
ReplyDeleteYour mantel is wonderful! I love that wall color and then the picture sets just the right theme! Beach, ocean, shells and sand! Thanks for joining TTF this week.
