In keeping with my Louisiana coastal feel, I found this pelican painting at Goodwill for $3! I’m killing two birds with one stone here! LOL! Since the pelican is the Louisiana state bird and it’s a coastal creature, it is the perfect accessory!
The starfish came from Goodwill as well! I was really surprised that it wasn’t all broke up. The vintage style clock is Better Homes & Garden from Walmart. I have been searching for some old clocks like this and have not come across a single one!
It works well with the urn of seashells! To see that post, click here.
I do have plans for the mirror and hope that I can get it done this week but I have to work on the taxes!! Yes, I wanted till almost the last minute this year! What do you think about this lamp? Does it look good here or should I try something different?
UPDATE: I have completed the mirror that you see in the background! It has now been covered with oyster shells! To see that post, click here.

Thank you, Karin! You're so blessed to have the gift of paint! I wish I had it!
DeleteLove the pelican! It's a great vignette. I might change the lamp to a more chalk-y like piece to go with the rest (but I love the lamp, too). Still have MY taxes to do as well!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nancy! I liked the lamp there for the winter months but I'm thinking I need to change it. Guess what? I just finished my taxes!!! It didn't take as long as I thought! Good luck with yours!
DeleteUh-oh, more Louisiana love! The pelican is a great addition to your seashells!
ReplyDeleteThe pelican really spoke to my inner beach babe! I haven't had any luck either in my pursuit of a vintage clock. Just may have to go see if I can find one at Walmart.
ReplyDeleteI know, Marlee! At one time I was seeing the vintage clocks everywhere but as soon as I decided I wanted some, there gone!!
DeleteThe pelican is awesome! I need to find more beachy things for my house here in Florida! Love the vignette you've put together!
ReplyDeleteI need to find a starfish at Goodwill too! :) Very cute.

What a neat find.....makes a perfect vignette. I just bought the same Wal-Mart clock for the same reason as you! Jane
ReplyDeleteIt's a great vignette and you are so lucky to have found such great items! Good work!
ReplyDeleteLucky you..love the pelican painting and I can't believe you got it for only $3. Wow!
ReplyDeleteCoastal decor is one of my favorite styles, although I live 5 hours from the coast. I like your lamp, and think it picks up on the browns in the seashells and starfish.
I adore that pelican painting. It hooked me to your blog from SSS! I love coastal decor myself!
ReplyDeleteThat painting is fantastic - what a find! Visiting from Wow Us Wednesdays... Rhonda @ home.made.

I am so envious of your pelican! What a fun find. It adds just the right amount of whimsy to the space.
ReplyDeleteThe lamp would probably be happier somewhere else. Maybe a more matte finish lamp base in a more coastal shade like a light turquoise or deep gray.
Fab vignette!
Thanks for sharing!! Found you via No Minimalist Here :-)
Tammy, I love the painting and your urn of sea shells! What a great deal on the painting too. Thanks for linking to the Open House party.
