Weather Vane in Fall Vignette

SAM_2131
I went shopping again in Hunter’s barn!  This time I found an old weather vane. It is from the diary barn on the front part of the family property.  I believe the dairy farm was started in the 1930’s and continued at least until the early 1970’s.

And this is was I did with it!  After cleaning it up, my husband mounted it on a piece of scrap wood so that it would stand on its own.

I paired it with this cute picture I purchased a couple of years ago.

I accented both pieces with a bush of faux mums.  I have a lot of these nice bushes that I lucked up on at Hobby Lobby one year.  It was after Thanksgiving and they were 90% off!  That’s right, I paid 99 cents for each bush and they had a lot of selection!  The following year, I tried to catch them again but I didn’t!  Oh well, at least I took advantage of it the first time I caught them!

Just a little touch of Fall on top of the refrigerator!  I like the height that the weather vane adds to the vignette!

  16. I love it, Tammy! What a great vignette for on top of the refrigerator. I'm afraid that's where I'm lacking some Fall decor. I need to take care of that! Great buy on the Fall bushes. I'll have to keep my eye out this year for the end of season sale.
