Mikasa Day Dreams

SAM_5178
This past week I’ve found several super deals at the local Goodwill.  I’ve been restraining myself as far as dishes are concerned because I’m getting too many but I just couldn’t pass these up!

I found 8 dinner plates, 8 salad plates, and 8 soup bowls of Mikasa Garden Club Day Dream! This pattern was produced between 1986-1990.  I love the beautiful blue of the flowers with the brown trim of the dish.
But wait, there’s more!

I also found a few days earlier, a complete 45 piece set of Reed and Barton Everyday Stainless in the Gatehouse pattern!  They were all in a zip loc bag but looked brand new!

Now, drum roll please!  The dishes were 59 cents each, which came to $14.16!!! for a set of Mikasa!  The flatware was 4/$1, which came to $11.25!  The flatware averages about $100 for the set new.
I’m very pleased with my thrifty finds this week.  Even though, I told myself no more dishes, I couldn’t help thinking “but their Mikasa”!  They just had to come home with me.
Thanks for stopping by!

  7. That was great luck, I have a terrible weakness for china and always have to restrain myself. I don't think I could have walked away without that flatware though, it's beautiful.
