This past weekend we celebrated Savannah's birthday. It's hard to believe she is 15. Goodness, how time flies! It seems like just yesterday she was a little girl toddling around!
I let Savannah chose the "theme" for this tablescape. She decided on seafood!
Her favorite seafood is fried alligator. No, I didn't cook any. Her dad picked some up from a local restaurant. I've never tried to cook alligator! We used this vintage Motorola radio that was in Hunter's collection as part of the centerpiece.
We pulled the colors from the embroidered crab napkins (ebay).
We started by draping the table with a white tablecloth and a fish net ($Tree) in the center. The place mats were a great buy at the grand opening of the new Goodwill. Red square plates (JCPenney) were topped with clear clam salad plates (Trash to Treasure). The clear glass allows the crab napkin to show though nicely. The plate handled flatware (TtoT) brings out the black outline of the crab.
Wine glasses are Mikasa "The Ritz" and the other glass is a yard sale find. There are outlines of seafood around the bottom.
Some Tabasco salt and pepper shakers....
with a few shells scattered here and there.
Thank you so much for stopping by! I would love for you to follow me. If you leave me a comment, I'll follow you back.

Very pretty table. Fried alligator? Much more adventurous in eating then me!! I know how you feel about them growing up so fast, my "baby" will be 15 in September. "The days are long, but the years are fast."

ReplyDeleteThank you for all the lovely comments!
ReplyDeleteTammy, you put so much into the eye-catching details of the table. I don't even like seafood, but I saw that little radio in the link at no minimalist here and had to come and check it out. What a joy to see your creative setting. I'm your newest follower. Hope you'll stop and see me at Quirky Vistas.

Belated Happy Birthday to Savannah! What a fun tablescape. I love that radio! I've never had alligator meat. I have heard that it tastes like chicken, but then that's what is said about lots of exotic meat. Wishing Savannah many more happy years to come and wishing you a happy and safe Memorial Day. I am your newest follower.

ReplyDeleteWhat a cute cute setting! I hope Savannah had a fabulous birthday. My son use to want crawfish on his birthday. Thanx for coming to the party!
ReplyDeleteGreat tablescape...so cute
ReplyDeleteI'm not even sure where to start, Tammy. This is super, super, super, super cool!!! I am so late getting to posts this week as we prepare to hit the road yet again tomorrow (nothing fun...just Ramon's work again). I am glad I took a break to sit down and get to this one! You did a marvelous job! I love how it appears as if the crab on the napkin is underwater, making ripples in the water. That is a really cool effect! That radio is just too wild! It came in the box with the dishes?!?!!! What a great idea!!! The alligator head is pretty cool, too! Great to see you pick up on the outline of the crab with the black flatware. This really rocks! Happy Birthday to Savannah!
ReplyDeleteLove the Motorola Radio as centerpiece, then complimented by your sea inspired plates, and bold black flatware. Awesome decision to choose seafood as the theme. Clearly, she has great taste. Happy Birthday to her. Thanks for sharing. Happy Memorial Weekend. ~CJ

Sounds so Australian §;-) but alligator is really palatable. I tried when I lived in Australia ages ago. I am drooling now.
ReplyDeleteI love the red touch of your settings. This makes the whole ambiance luxurious.
Great job.
